My skin feels rough to the touch
This is a good indicator that your skin is severely dry. Even if your skin once was oily and acne-prone, or if later in the day you get oily, you really need moisture for your skin. Sometimes the skin becomes oily later in the day because it is desperate to produce a protective barrier. If you start out the day feeling normal or dry and then later are very oily then you need a moisturizer. We recommend Dewy Decadence (a moisturizing, balancing liquid foundation) or a loose mineral with the ultra-rich Morning Dew Drops primer. You may even want to use the loose mineral with Dewy Decadence for additional coverage, but never use Dewy Decadence with a primer. Morning Dew Drops primer is used for people with exceptionally dry skin that Dewy Decadence foundation won’t be rich enough to soothe. You will start out using more than the two recommended drops per application if you have exceptionally dry skin. Over time, you will reduce as your skin becomes balanced.

The difference: Morning Dew Drops is meant to soothe ultra-dry, almost sandpaper feeling skin, or very thick skin that doesn't feel very elastic. Dewy Decadence is meant for people who are worried about fine lines but don't need the intensity of Morning Dew Drops. Dewy Decadence is also better for people with compromised or sensitive skin.
My skin is really oily even in the morning
The loose mineral without a primer is perfect for you. Our mineral foundation (whether custom or not) does not have anything that can aggravate the skin. It is a pure mineral that shields your skin. Our loose mineral has buildable coverage and can always be used with any of the other products mentioned. If you are on the exceptionally oily side you may want to consider using the product Soften to finish over the loose mineral. You may also want to still look into a serum or moisturizer as oily skin is often a sign that your skin is not being treated properly. Even changing a face wash product can aid in improving your overall skin balance.
My skin is a combination but mostly slightly dry
We recommend either Dewy Decadence or Dewluxe with Loose Mineral.
Dewluxe is a hydro-based primer that works to balance skin, soothe redness, and creates a beautiful natural finish to the loose mineral. It is excellent for people who want the coverage that loose mineral gives but love the moisturizing effect of Dewy Decadence. (You can always use Dewy Decadence with the loose but don't pair Dewy Decadence with Dewluxe).
