Eye Drape

There are thousands of colors, so how do you decide which to wear? What’s it look like when you find the right one? Are you unintentionally dragging yourself down? Stop wondering and start feeling confident in your look. Here’s how. Our eye drape is a comprehensive color game that pits eyeshadows against one another in each of our ten hues.

OVERCOME YOUR COLOR FEAR

The secret behind which colors look good on you and which age you is simple: Undertone. The way of finding this undertone is much more complicated.

There are two undertones that matter in this formula; your own undertone and the color’s undertone. In the studio, clients who do not get a comprehensive color analysis are judged on two color tests. One is their skin color when we find their Skin Twin, the other is their Red & Red-Purple when we use the LipDrape. This is like rounding up to 3 when you get the number 2.79, it’s pretty accurate but its less geeky than we would like. The problem is that finding each color point would take a long time, which is why we reserve this for color analysis. Lucky for you, there’s a way for you to find your perfect shades in the comfort of your cozy home if you’re unable to visit us :(.

EYEDRAPES

Eye drapes test which undertones in each color zone look best on you. All of our drapes have a very similar methodology to how you use them but don’t sweat the swatching, we make it easy and fun. We are only a message away to help if needed.

Once you’ve found your tones, we have shopping swatches available for order, and also have colors for makeup grouped under those codes. No more guessing, choose color confidently. As an example, we’ve got Blake testing out her Yellows (Energy).

THE CODE

When Blake tested her yellows, her best yellow was E23Ld.

The first letter of the code always stands for the color or intention zone.

E for Energy (yellow)

T for Trust (blue)

B for Balance (teal)

L for Life (green)

I for Intuition (indigo)

C for Creativity (purple)

A for Ambition (pink)

P for Power (red)

S for Strength (orange)

D for Determination (lime)

The next two or three numbers stand for the code within the color zone. It is the exact color family the color is in. For example, her yellow is in the 23 zone. So when she goes online and types E23 all the results will fall in that happy range for her.

The next letter is the level of the color. Her’s was L so we know that it is a light range. d = deep, m = medium and L = light. You can use this code system to decide on placement for eyeshadows too. For example since her best Yellow is in the E23 zone, her all over color could be an ‘L’ or ‘m’ and her ‘v’ or contour color could be a ‘d’ or ‘m’ depending on the look she wants.

Lastly, the letters or numbers after this number stand for the exact depth within a level of color. In the same way that ‘E’ is the catch-all for yellow colors, ‘d’, ‘m’, or ‘L’ is the catch-all for depth with the numbers or letters specifying where in that range it falls. These are the most variable of the codes, and I’d encourage you to play around with these, as long as you are staying more true to the Color Family.

We offer shopping tools for each of the codes we have so that you can find the colors that look best on you no matter the medium. With eyeshadows, this is especially useful. If the color looks good on your eyes, it’s going to look good as a dress or piece of clothing.
